Unique Seneca Falls Scroll Saw/Drill Press

Unique Seneca Falls Scroll Saw/Drill Press

$8,250.00Price

I believe this may have been a salesman's sample showing the high end features of the Seneca Falls model line. This model has several very interesting features -- first, it is only 25" high on its small base (the only one of these I have ever seen).  It is 27" long.  It has a 1889 patent date cast diagonally along the center saw supporting strut (along with the other usual Seneca Falls patent dates in their normal locations). This 1889 date is associated with later Star model lathes, but I haven't seen it on a scroll saw before. The saw also sports a wooden handle on top of the drill press, a much needed improvement.

The cast iron base seems purpose-made for this saw to make it more portable. This is a very significant treadle machine.
