There is an old saying: "Solid as the Mountains."
But miners know the mountains are not solid.
They may be slower than a fingernail growing, but mountains are moving.  The highway signs we see that warn of falling rocks
still declare our mountains are not solid.
Inside the mines, inside the mountain, you can hear the creakings and groans of rock grinding to and fro.

In the future we can expect to see more fury spew forth in molten blasts, hotter by far than a blacksmith's fire.

This earth is a transient thing.  And -- as you may have guessed from my peripatetic wailing -- my web sites are even worse.

Anyway, I'm sorry!
